SBS TV, SBS Entertainment, YG Entertainment cancel ‘Jungle Book’ show
SBS television, SBC Entertainment and YG entertainment have canceled “Jungle Books,” an animated series about an ape who goes on the run after being kidnapped by an evil ape.
The drama was written by veteran animation artist and “Big Bang Theory” writer-producer David Young and premiered on YG’s social media channels in March.
The series has received critical acclaim and has been viewed more than 10 million times on the streaming service.
The cast includes Rian Johnson, Emma Dumont, Jack Black and Michael B. Jordan.
The show, which was to air in the fall, will now air on SBS’ sister channel, Sesam.
The cancellation comes after the network also canceled the “Biggest Loser” finale, which aired Oct. 10.
It also comes as YG is set to air the upcoming live-action movie “Piece of Cake,” which is based on a series of cartoons that starred Ricky Gervais, who will voice the character.
“Jungling” will be shown on Sesamp, Yolanda and other YG networks.
